The Government has launched a new Planning Portal which offers an online service for planning. You can use the tools and information they provide to find out about planning issues in the area and what development you can perform around your house. The Portal's services also let you apply for planning permission electronically as well as submit and track an appeal online.

Article 4 Directions are issued by Rother Council in circumstances where specific
control over development is required, primarily where the character of an area of
acknowledged importance would be threatened. They are therefore more commonly applied
