RCS sponsor talk at Rye Arts Festival

The 2018 Rye Arts Festival starts on Saturday 15 September with a free event involving one sixth scale working model tanks giving battle around Church Square and the Gun Gardens to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1.

There will be a full literary programme, a classical music programme, a visual arts programme and contemporary music. Full details can be found on the festival website. Click HERE . The Festival runs until 30th September

The Conservation Society is delighted to be sponsoring a talk by Alastair Fairley. In 1934 a new structure started to emerge on the south coast at Bexhill, unlike anything seen in this country before.Today, the De La Warr Pavilion is rightly regarded as one of Britain’s finest Modernist buildings. Heritage expert Alastair Fairley, author of the building’s monograph history, explores the hidden stories behind this fascinating ‘People’s Palace’.
