Rye Conservation Society Christmas Party

Friday 7th December

The Society Christmas Party which we are told marks the true start of Christmas in Rye will be held on Friday 7 December at 6pm in Rye Town Hall.

We are expecting the Rye Mayor, Michael Boyd; Jonathan Johnson, the Chair of Rother Council with his wife Cclr Gillian Johnson; and our two local Rother Councillors, Lord Ampthill and Gennette Stevens.

The Rye Conservation Society 2018 Annual Award for a successful refurbishment will be presented to Diana Turner, Manager of the Ship Inn and to Ed Gardner Commercial Director Hush Heath Estates. The excellent new sign commissioned by the Society and paid for by Hush Heath Ltd is pictured right.

Copies of his book, Shapes Colours and Materials - a look at buildings in Rye, written and published by Society President, John Griffiths will be on sale to members at the special price of £2.00 for a single copy and £4.00 for further copies.

Fletchers will be supplying canapes to the party and we are grateful to Kyriakos for organising the wine.
